I recently had the opportunity to ask David Comeaux (far right) of American Factory Direct, a 3rd generation family-owned furniture business, about some of his favorite spots in Mandeville, Louisiana. As a local business member himself, he gave me tons of local spots to support while you’re in town.
1.) For casual dining, he picked Mi Mamacitas. He loves this seemingly hole in the wall Mexican spot, because they have great food and an awesome atmosphere for his children, 14-year-old Noah Comeaux and 12-year-old Kate Comeaux.

2.) For date nights with his wife Tracy Comeaux, he prefers to go to Restaurant 527. This is a local spot owned by renowned chef Pat Gallagher, and he can never resist getting a filet from here.
3.) While David is not much for dessert himself, he does recommend the Flan from Mi Mamacitas from his casual dining pick. However, more often than not his kids (who you can see pictured with him and his wife Tracy below) can convince him to swing by Bop’s which as anyone from the South knows, is worth the trip.

4.) Despite not having an affinity for sweets, he did have recommendations for some post-dinner drinks at both Pat’s Rest Awhile (also owned by Pat Gallagher) and the Ponchartrain Yacht Club. Both of these spots are on the Mandeville lakefront which give customers an amazing view to go with their drinks.
5.) While David is also not much of a shopper, he did credit local store Marsh and Bayou which he will occasionally stop by for all his necessary fishing gear.
6.) He also credited the favorite store of Tracy and Kate Comeaux, Gran’s Attic which is a consignment store near enough to their home that Kate can bike there whenever she wants to find something new to wear.
Moral of the story is that there’s plenty to do in Mandeville. If you’re in doubt, David enjoys taking the family for a bike ride around Old Mandeville and picking a spot on the lakefront for dinner.
